Joanne Reece

Travel Consultant

When did you start working in the travel industry?

I was cabin crew for British Airways and a passenger agent at Bournemouth Airport but took a break from travel after having my children and have just returned. I'm very excited to start in the travel sales world.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

Talking to people about holidays is always exciting, travel is my passion and I love nothing more than talking about it and helping people find their right match.

Where would you like to visit next?

I would love to take a short break to Iceland this year. It's been a place I have wanted to travel too for a long time, it always looks magical and I absolutely love waterfalls and this year is supposed to be the best for the northern lights.

What is your dream holiday destination?

Peru is top of my bucket list, climbing to Machu Picchu and experiencing the Inca history and culture would be amazing. Being able to combine the diversity of the mountains, with cities, lake and rainforest areas would be perfect.

What has been your favourite holiday, which you have booked for a customer, that you would love to take yourself?

I've taken many enquires, especially for cruises, and I'd love to go on some of these. The Norwegian Fjords is of particular interest and looks beautiful.

What were your childhood holidays like?

I spent most of my childhood holidays within the UK with my family, particularly Devon and Cornwall and often in caravans. I have many happy memories on the beach, exploring little pretty towns with my grandparents and dancing in the clubhouse on my grandads feet.

What are the first three things in your case?

SPF moisturizer, large sunglasses that apparently make me look like a bee, and my kindle with a selection of books downloaded.

My Travel Memory
I have just come back from Sri Lanka and its stolen my heart, an amazing mix of culture, history and wonderful beaches. The people are so friendly, service that makes you feel so special, so much to see with elephants and buddhas around ever corner, but also managed to relax and unwind and make fantastic memories with my two children.
